Solar Vic Rebates: What’s New and Are You Eligible?

Solar VIC rebates have expanded, making solar solutions more accessible. With increased eligibility, homeowners can now benefit from up to $1,400 off panels, $8,800 for battery loans, and a new $1,000 heat pump rebate.

Solar VIC rebates have recently expanded, making solar solutions more reachable for a broader audience. Here’s a breakdown of the incentives and who’s eligible.

STC (Small-scale Technology Certificates)

STCs are open to all Australians. Every solar system up to 100kW earns certificates that equate to reductions in the installation cost. For example, a 5kW system might result in a $2,000 saving, with larger systems offering even more.

However, the amount of STCs that you can generate for kilowatt of solar you install decreases each year. For example, installs next year will get less STCs than the same size to install this year.

Solar VIC Rebates

Households earning up to $210,000 are now eligible, up from the previous $180,000 cap.

The offerings include:

  • A $1,400 panel rebate, an equivalent interest-free panel loan;
  • An $8,800 interest-free battery loan, and;
  • A new $1,000 heat pump rebate.

If you’ve already claimed a Solar VIC panel or heat pump rebate, you’re now also eligible to access the new battery loan.

Every homeowner can tap into the STCs, offering significant reductions.

Those eligible for Solar VIC rebates can access additional savings, effectively dismissing the myth of “no more rebates.” Today’s incentives offer more variety than ever before.
